The Connection Gallery
Archival and Giclee Printing
Here at the Connection Gallery, we are constantly looking for ways to enhance the customer experience. In 2019 we added a bespoke framing service. To celebrate a new decade and to add even more value for our loyal customers we now offer archival and giclee printing.
What is Archival and Giclee Printing?
Archival printing, sometimes called Giclee printing is the process of using the very best archival inks and papers to reproduce anything from fine art pieces to treasured photographs. This type of specialist printing is achieved using inkjet printers that are specific to this type of high-quality work. Archival paper is chosen in order to help you achieve the best reproduction for your piece or pieces. For example, a semi-gloss archival paper is used to recreate oil paintings as it offers the perfect base to offer an authentic finish.
Did you know that the term “Giclee” was first used in 1991 by a printmaker called Jack Duganne. He used it to describe his process of producing fine art digital prints via an inkjet printer set up for this type of quality work.
The Process and End Result
Reproduce a piece of art you would need a high-resolution image of the piece or high-definition photograph which can be delivered either on a USB stick, via email or if preferred through a sharing service such as Dropbox. The maximum size available is A2 which offers a stunning piece that will capture the attention of any and all who see it. During our initial consultation, you may view and choose the size that works best for you.
We are able to deliver your archival print as is, or, if preferred would be happy to offer a quote for our bespoke framing service.
From start to finish we offer a dedicated service which allows you to enjoy your artwork in any way you like. Be it a heritage piece or something new that you or someone special has recently taken or created, our printing service offers guaranteed excellent quality and service each and every time.
If you have any questions about our archival or giclee print please don’t hesitate to get in touch. Here at Connection Gallery, we want you to be as happy when you pick up your finished item as we are producing it for you.
The giclee print is tailored to you. For a no-obligation quote please contact Richard on 01845 868010 or send an email to Richard
